Shrovetide (Pancake Day, cheese Sunday, Maslenitsa) is the old Slavic feast in honor of spring nature waking up. Christian Church added Pancake Day in its calendar.

Shrovetide in Ukraine had such a wide scale as, for example, in the central Russia. But here, youth and adults ride on horseback, arranged a banquet in pockets, wear traditional Ukraine clothes.

Yuri is the ancient holiday of the farming calendar. On this day in the morning the cattle were turned out in the field on the Yura’s dew, which in popular belief, had wonder force, people sing special songs, wear special Ukraine dress to release warm dew, warm summer. In submissions of Ukrainian people Yuri also gave spring moisture needed to grow crops.

Easter is the most substantial Christian holiday. In the national tradition, Ukrainian Easter clearly keeps to pagan spring rites: ceremonial baking cookies, painting eggs, presenting Ukrainian gifts, games, dancing and entertainment to young people, honoring ancestors, agro-magic, purification ceremonies and so on. Besides Easter is the holiday of Easter egg, which is now very popular all over the world and is one of the best souvenirs in Ukraine.
